Mountain Top  Location

The mountain top location includes a long meandering driveway leading to the beautiful Chalet style mountain house, cloaked by thousands of Evergreens, tall Oak trees, Mountain Laurel bushes and Fieldstone walls. The very gentle and walkable 35 acres is mostly forest with some clean cut open fields and some  young growth wildlife habitat.

Recreation

Various species of birds and other wildlife populate the grounds. The far back of the property bounds on the 800 acre Whitaker Swamp State Forest, which is open for hiking, skiing, snowmobiling, horseback riding, and mountain biking! A beautiful crystal clear little stream runs through the property and feeds the pond. The pond has a gazebo and dock for your swimming and fishing pleasure. The outdoor fire pit has an attractive arrangement of native Bluestone block seats. it will be the place to be, roasting marshmallows on quiet summer nights.  Trails throughout the land are ideal for riding ATV’s, hiking, hunting, cross-country skiing or just about anything else. It’s 35 acres of private paradise.

The Mountain Neighborhood

If you venture outside of your hidden retreat, nearby Deposit, New York has a number of recreational and dining opportunities. The famous West Branch Delaware River is known for some of the best trout fly fishing in the country and canoeing and kayaking, too. The Cannonsville Reservoir is a scenic wonder with fishing and other opportunities. Oquaga Creek State Park is a maintained state park with a lake and a beach. The nearby Chestnut Inn has fine dining (5 star) at a beautiful lakeside location. Butterfield’s has casual but delicious dining choices. In Deposit, you can grab your groceries at the Big M, then stop at Crane’s Liquor and take home the beverage of your choice.
